Conférence du Professeur Luc Théot en mai 2006
Les 3,4 et 5 mai 2006 le professeur Luc Téot ,Président de la World Union of Wound healing Societies, est venu à Malte faire une série de conférences, organisées par The Primary Health Care Departement of Malta, pour parler de ses travaux concernant la prise en charge des plaies et des problèmes de cicatrisation. IMC a sponsorisé la création et la fabrication de 200 CD qui ont été distribués aux participants leurs permettant ainsi de garder un outil de travail à Malte.
Master classes in dance and acting at MITP
A SERIES of exciting, in-depth master classes took place recently at the MITP Theatre in Valletta. They were organised by the Mediterranean Institute of the University of Malta and co-sponsored by Marie-Amélie Gleizes Dewavrin, president on behalf of the Institute for Maltese Culture. They were conducted by Françoise Dupriez-Flamand, the French danceuse-étoile whom the University had hosted in Malta in 2004 when she danced to two of her own choreographies at Fort St Angelo and the President’s Palace, respectively.
University Theatre students, ballet students and teachers from local dance schools as well as other groups involved in specialised areas of the performing arts benefited from the virtuosity and experience of artist..
A New Award for Art and Science
The Institute for Maltese Culture and The Institute of Cellular Pharmacology have jointly created an award for the promotion of science entitled the Marie-Amelie Gleizes-Dewavrin Award for Art and Science. The aim of this award is to acknowledge Maltese people working in the field of science in Malta who have excelled in promoting their work overseas and in so doing have helped to improve the image of Malta and its scientists in the international field. This award was presented under the patronage of Malta’s Ambassador to France and the French Ambassador in Malta. A jury of international scientists judged the applications and chose the winning scientist. The chairman of the jury was the Rev. Professor Peter Serracino Inglott. Dr. Tonio Fenech also assisted the jury. The scientist chosen by the jury for a work of excellence in the promotion of science outside Malta received the sum of Ten Thousand Euros.
