AN OPPORTUNITY FOR REGIONAL BUSINESS LEADERS
As part of her intermediary role between Malta and France, and in particular the Languedoc region, Henriette de Cambiaire, Honorary Consul, organized a reception at the Maltese Consulate in Bessan to which the region’s business leaders as well as Bessan’s elected representatives were invited.
During the informal reception, without ceremony or protocol, the Maltese Ambassador to France, His Excellency Mark Miggiani, who had come specially to meet regional business leaders, was able to showcase his country and the opportunities it offers in terms of science and tourism, as well as educational exchanges.
Mark Miggiani is not a professional Ambassador, but a business leader elected to this position for three to six years before returning to his regular work; that’s how it works in Malta. This means that he is more familiar with the needs of the business leaders he has come to meet. His role equally involves raising the profile of Malta and its history and culture in France, a role in which he is assisted by the enthusiastic and effective Marie-Amélie Dewavrin, President of the Institute for Maltese.
